Meet Jeanette
Animals have always been part of my family. As an adult, I’ve shared my home with three adopted dogs—a Doberman mix, Labrador mix, and Shih Tzu—as well as five cats, including two adopted Sphynxes.
My professional background actually began in a very different kind of service.
Until 2017, I worked as a Case Manager for the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, working with children with special needs and their families. After many years as a social worker, I felt I had served my purpose in that role and was ready to build something new around another lifelong passion.
I began building my professional pet sitting business in 2016, and Fur Star Pet Care, LLC grew from there.
Why Professional Pet Care Matters to Me
I’ve traveled extensively and have lived abroad, including in India in 1993 and Mali, West Africa from 1998–2002.
Those experiences gave me a firsthand understanding of just how valuable it is to have a reliable person you trust at home—someone who understands your pets, respects your home, communicates with you, and can customize services around your family’s needs.
That philosophy remains at the heart of Fur Star Pet Care, LLC today.

Getting to Know You—and Your Pets
Before services begin, we ask clients to complete a pet profile through our scheduling software and review and agree to our pet sitting contract.
Jeanette or the Fur Star team member best suited to your family’s needs will meet with you and your pets before sitting services begin.
This gives us the opportunity to learn your pets’ routines, personalities and individual needs while making sure you, your pets, and your sitter are all comfortable with the arrangement.

Jeanette graduated from the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Chicago, Illinois, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Anthropology from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois.
When she’s not caring for animals, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and reading.
